Blooming De Soto, Rising Tomorrows
Check out this fantastic kinetic sculpture! It was created by local CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies)high school students at CTEC (Cedar Trails Exploration Center), in partnership with the Arts Council and the City of De Soto.

Mural at Caprine Supply
This striking mural was painted in 2024 by Alex Eickhoff. It features scenes from around De Soto and contains a few “Easter eggs!” See if you can find some!

Force of Nature Brewing Gallery
While not an official Arts Council installation, art lovers will enjoy a trip to Force of Nature Brewing. Not only do their walls feature rotating shows from local artists, but they regularly host live music events featuring local musicians.

Native Spirit
This 3D sculpture currently graces the front entrance of De Soto City Hall. Created by De Soto High School art teacher Tim Mispagel, this metal sculpture is hopefully the first of many public sculpture installations in De Soto.

Sunflowers Mural
Painted in 2018, by Emily Euler, this large scale mural celebrates the peace and beauty of the Kansas landscape. The mural was created through a partnership between the Arts Council and Loya Coker.

Keep an eye out in the fall for the art show! Artists around the area show their wares.

Art Council Gallery
The De Soto Arts Council Meeting Room is periodically used to display the work of local artists. While the room is locked most of the time, keep an eye out for events like the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting where the council is open and receiving visitors.

Horse Sculpture
This trio of metal horses was installed at the intersection of 83rd St. and Kill Creek Rd. Their angular design is complemented by a colorful mural that celebrates De Soto’s location along the historic California Trail.
